Built in 1928 by Simon Construction Company, the Tiger Hotel is a luxury boutique hotel located in the heart of Columbia, Missouri. Just steps away from The University of Missouri’s Columbia campus as well as many restaurants, bars and stores that Columbia’s downtown district has to offer. A full service boutique hotel, The Tiger offers 62 rooms and suites. Guests enjoy all of the business and first-rate amenities of a luxury hotel including wi-fi access throughout the property, multiple dining options and weekly events.
Over the years and numerous incarnations, many of the historical elements were lost. The original chandeliers are one of the features that were saved and reconditioned for modern use. All of the terrazzo inlaid floors have been stripped and polished back to their original splendor as well. After taking room floors back to nothing but the outside brick walls, they have now been carefully appointed with modern layouts and features that rival that of any luxury hotel.
In 1979, The Tiger Hotel was nominated for the National Registry of Historic places and was named one of the top ten most notable places in Boone County in 2000. Sold again in 2011, the current owners of The Tiger Hotel embarked on the most magnificent renovation to date.
