If you are driving near Helena, Montana, this twenty-five-foot-tall tower is impossible to miss! It was first built as a fire tower in 1876. It is a true historical gem, as there are only five fire towers of this type remaining in the United States! While it is no longer functional, a hike to the tower is a great way to get a scenic view of Helena. You can hike a path up to the tower, and enjoy viewpoints of both Helena and the surrounding mountain ranges!
The Blackfoot River, sometimes called the Big Blackfoot River to distinguish it from the Little Blackfoot River, is a snow-fed and spring-fed river in western Montana.
