Glendive-based artist Pamela Harr is a nationally-renowned sculptor and 1981 inductee int0 the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame in Fort Worth, TX. Since 2016, Harr has, mostly at her own expense, been erecting bronze sculptures in various locations around Glendive to leave a lasting legacy of her work in the community she has called home since 1996. As of July 2020, a total of nine Harr sculptures can be seen around town, with a 10th slated for completion by the end of 2020. Harr’s statues can be found at the following locations:

  • “To the Color” at the Eastern Montana Veterans Home;
  • “Born to Hunt” at the Glendive Welcome Park on Merrill Avenue;
  • “Waiting for the Bus” at the Merrill Ave. entrance to Dawson County High School;
  • “Goose Girl,” “Home, Home on the Range,” “The Cat’s Meow,” and “Feedin’ My Hoss” adorn the four corners of the Towne Street Bridge over the Yellowstone River;
  • “The Heart of a Lion” at the Eastern Plains Event Center; and
  • “The Price” in Our Park on Merrill Ave.
  • The 10th statue, “Ground Tied,” will be placed in front of the Dawson County Courthouse when complete.
