The Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art provides tourists a location to get a broad understanding of the culture and history of Saint Joseph, Missouri. Since its inception in 1913, the museum has become a premier player in its immense collection of American art from the 18th century to modern times. Set in a beautiful historic home built in the 1930s, visitors will have a chance to explore the historic building with modern amenities.

The AKMA gallery includes colonial portraits, American landscape paintings, as well as well-renowned works showcasing Indigenous people and the American West. In addition to the permanent collection, the museum hosts 12 exhibitions per year highlighting works from regional emerging artists. The collection continues to expand and improve every year, and the AKMA is proud to spotlight regional artists who capture the American spirit.
