For a little piece of Ireland, Morrison’s pub may just be the best place in Illinois to visit. When Lisa, Mary, and Katey visited the Emerald Isle, they found something that they needed to bring back home to Alton – the pubs, of course! And because it is impossible to put an existing Irish pub on a plane for America, they knew what they must do. They opened their own traditional Irish pub in Alton!
Lisa, Mary, and Katey did such an excellent job of cultivating the common Irish pub atmosphere that it doesn’t even feel like they had to try that hard. In other words, the homage to Ireland is clear and the labor was love for the family. From the exposed brick and wood interior to the unassuming sign on the door- this pub is an Irish classic right here in the USA. Not only does their atmosphere do justice to the Emerald Isle, so does the food! The Morrison Pub offers essentially everything you could want from a food standpoint. They have corned beef, traditional Irish stew, lamb burgers, Irish soda bread, cottage pie, burgers, bangers & mash, and a whole host of Irish sides and desserts. With a menu like this, the whole family can find something to eat. Not only is the food delicious, but they also offer a huge menu featuring mouth-coating Irish Whiskey and Scotch. The pub also has live music nights and other events making it the perfect night-out. Anyone in the Alton area should come down to Morrison’s Irish Pub, it makes for a great experience.
