The Museum of the Rockies is where dinosaurs still roam the earth…where Montana history transports visitors back in time…and where guests can come eye to eye with beautiful, dangerous live reptiles.

The Museum of the Rockies is located in Bozeman, Montana, and contains a large variety of exhibits, education opportunities, events, and a planetarium. Here, exhibits include:

  • Different reptiles
  • “Big Mike,” a Tyrannosaurus rex that was discovered in 1988
  • The largest collections of dinosaur fossils in the world
  • The history of Montana’s homesteading era

The Museum of the Rockies also offers educational opportunities to anyone and everyone.

Visitors can expand their knowledge by joining online programs, camps, university programs, and adult programs. Throughout the year, The Museum of the Rockies holds handfuls of events, such as an evening at the museum, wine and culinary classic, MOR twofold benefit, and the haunted mountain theater. Visitors can also experience Taylor Planetarium, where they can watch the cosmos up close as they are projected of a 40-foot dome.

The Museum of the Rockies is a warm, welcoming place for everyone. It brings together the past and the present as it highlights the 1890s living farm history, breaks down Yellowstone Park into a child’s interactive learning adventure, and brings the most distant stars and planets to reach.
