Situated on the banks of the mighty Missouri River, the National Park Service’s Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail Visitor Center in Omaha, Nebraska commemorates the journey of Lewis and Clark and the Corps of Discovery. Visitors are welcome to meet with Park Rangers to learn more about Lewis and Clark history or to gather information for planning their next stop on their own journey along the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail.
The Visitor Center is co-located with the National Park Service Midwest Regional Office, which has had a presence in Omaha for nearly 80-years serving over 56 national parks and surrounding communities through preservation, recreation, conservation, and other assistance programs. A variety of different activities and programs are available to visitors, including ranger programs, interactive exhibits, films, National Park trip planning, “Ranger on Board” Riverboat Cruises, and the summer speaker series. Inside the Visitor Center, a variety of books, postcards, and gifts are available for sale in Riverfront Books, operated by Western National Parks Association. The 3,000 foot long Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge, located immediately adjacent to the Visitor Center, crosses the Missouri River and connects the cities of Omaha, Nebraska and Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Stop in and say hello! We are happy to assist you.
