Opened in 1976 to allow visitors a brief glimpse into West Virginia’s rich and illustrious history, the
West Virginia State Museum remains an important place to this day to gain an in-depth overview of
West Virginia history. The museum operates from Tuesday to Saturday from 9am-5pm and there is a
special guided tour called the “Show Path” which is a 45 minute exploration of West Virginia history
from prehistory to the 21st century. There are special artifacts and artworks  that come together
to tell the story of the creation and flourishing of the mountain state. Additionally, admission to the
