Committed to culture and community for over a century, the Muny is the nation’s oldest and largest outdoor musical theatre. The Municipal Theatre Association of St. Louis is located in the center of Forest Park. Every summer, the Muny produces seven Broadway-style musicals. Past shows include Beauty and the Beast, West Side Story, Chicago and many more. Additionally, every evening at the Muny features a preshow festival, with free performances and activities. When the Muny isn’t performing, it focuses on their training program which produces the next generation of performers, producers, and creators. Single-performance tickets start at $21, making the Muny a perfect place to take part in a St. Louis cultural tradition.

Merry Christmas from the Lewis and Clark National

Merry Christmas from the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail! Did you know that the Corps of Discovery celebrated three Christmases along the trail? The first Christmas was celebrated in Camp Dubois in 1803, the second in Fort Mandan in 1804, and the third was celebrated in Fort Clatsop in 1805. In the first year, Christmas was just a regular day, but as the group became closer there were gift exchanges and dancing! Fort Mandan has an interpretive center and cross country ski trails so you can get a behind the scenes look of what it felt like to spend winter there. Fort Clatsop is located in the Lewis and Clark National Historic Park and has a visitors center to educate visitors on the expedition and what it was like to reach the ocean. Make sure to visit these historic sites along the LCNHT to learn more about the expedition!
