Steamboat Warehouse State Historic Site

Information

lat: 46.814575 long: -100.821399

This Historic Marker stands as a tribute to the Northern Pacific Railroad warehouse that once served as a vital hub for transit on the Missouri River.  Now a park, this approximately three acre site features paved walking trails with beautiful views of the Missouri River.  The original warehouse was constructed in 1888 and was torn down in 1925, but the legacy preserved by this marker and its surrounding park continues today, illustrating the role played by Bismarck as a transportation center and pivotal Missouri River port during the nineteenth century.
