Because of its unique name, Persia has been the subject of international and national tapings. The BBC Persian channel interviewed the mayor and local residents about the town’s singular name. Every year, visitors come solely because of its name. It is also mentioned in country singer C. W. McCall’s song “Four Wheel Drive.”
This small town has two parks – the Persia City Park and Proof Park. Both parks are family friendly with playgrounds and Persia City Park has a picnic shelter.
If you prefer to eat your meal indoors, Plan B Bar & Grill, Northside Lounge, and Somewhere Else Bar & Grill are locally owned restaurants in Persia.
As you venture along the Lewis and Clark Trail, stop in at Persia and get your picture by the city welcome sign. You’re sure to remember your visit to one of just two towns in the United States named “Persia.”
