Featuring the same view that Meriwether Lewis and William Clark saw on their expedition, this center tells the story of the rivers and the people who have traveled along them.  Permanent exhibits include murals in the rotunda, which feature quotes from the Lewis and Clark Journals, and paintings of the Missouri River landscape by Colonel Philippe Régis de Trobriand, commanding officer of Fort Stevenson.  The other permanent exhibits space, the 2000-square-foot gallery Trails, Tracks, Rivers and Roads, recounts the geography of the area and the people who lived and explored there.  A new exhibition tells the story of Sitting Bull, the Hunkpapa Lakota leader and advocate.
