As one of the most extravagant historic sites in Indiana, the Culbertson Mansion State Historic Site is
one of the most-visited sites in the New Albany area. The hours of operation for the museum are from
Wednesday-Sunday from 10am-5pm with select holidays being closed. Tours are also available for
student groups at reduced pricing. There are over 25 rooms with over 20,000 square feet in this
mansion. The rooms were created with trompe l’oiel technique and there were many artists hired to
create the most extravagant design for the mansion. In 1976, the State of Indiana took over the
