Bismarck Art Alley

Hidden in an alley in North Dakota’s capital city is Alley 5.5, also known as the Bismarck Art Alley.  This open-air art gallery pays homage to North Dakota’s rich heritage.  Featuring murals by local artists, this alley has been transformed into an immersive outdoor art project.  The walls are covered in intricate, colorful, and inspiring paintings and mosaics, all showcasing the theme “reflections of North Dakota.”  Discover a quilt pattern, a multicolored map of the state, a tribute to a Native American leader, abstract landscapes, and a whimsical Wizard-of-Oz-inspired mural.  Each art piece highlights the impressive history and culture of North Dakota.
