Founded in 2014 by visionary Kentucky liquor retailer and entrepreneur, Ken Lewis, New Riff crafts a range of award-winning bourbon, rye, single malt whiskey and gin. Located in Northern Kentucky — the gateway to bourbon country — New Riff is 100% family owned – and we plan to stay that way.
Every bottle we make is a distillation of who we are and the incredibly high standards that are part of our DNA. You won’t find any shortcuts here. New Riff makes whiskey the hard way. Our flagship whiskeys are Bottled In Bond Without Chill Filtration, reflecting our commitment to one of the world’s highest quality standards.
Located directly beneath the distillery is an alluvial aquifer. This naturally occurring water source is an essential part of our production process and its clean, cool, limestone-rich water is part of what gives our whiskeys their unique flavor. With passion and knowledge born from one of the world’s great spirit regions, our talented team is individually committed to doing things the right way. We are firmly grounded in Kentucky’s revered Bourbon legacy, but this is our riff, and we hope to one day be considered one of the great small distilleries of the world.
