Neale Woods
Neale Woods is a 600-acre nature preserve in North Omaha. With forest and hilltop prairie ecosystems along the Missouri River, this preserve is the perfect escape into nature, located about ten miles from downtown Omaha. There are seven miles of walking trail that wind through the preserve. Look for the extensive plant and animal life along the trails, and take advantage of the exceptional birding opportunities. A seasonal butterfly garden further highlights the beauty of the area. Fontenelle Forest, a privately owned non-profit, owns and maintains Neale Woods. Admission fees ($5 for adults, $3 for children) can be paid via on-sight lockbox or at FontenelleForest.org/NW.
