Get to know this 3.6-mile out-and-back trail near Helena, Montana. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 1 h 22 min to complete. This is a very popular area for birding, fishing, and hiking, so you’ll likely encounter other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are March through November. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.
Enjoy this lovely trail that follows the Missouri River until Beaver Creek Recreation Area (where some restrooms are located). There are plenty of spots to access the river for a quick dip for yourself or your pups. This trail is very rocky and uneven so make sure to wear good shoes. Parking is available at the end of the dead-end road by the dam. The dam has many signs and a closed gate, but visitors just need to open and walk through the gate.
