The Mead Museum is a history museum located in Yankton, SD. It is home to the “Journeying Forward” exhibit featuring the entire Corp of Discovery journey from prepares to their legacy. This exhibit also features the Oceti Sakowin and Ihanktonwan people who were living in Yankton and along the Missouri River at the time of the expedition. This exhibit also links the Calumet Bluffs meeting of Lewis and Clark and the Ihanktowan leaders to the historic Calumet Ceremony among the Native Nations. The Mead Museum is open 7 days a week in the summer and 6 days a week in the winter (year round).
