Connect with nature, visit the fields, and shop local, all at Loess Hills Lavender Farm. In 2009, Tim and Mary Hamer planted 1,200 lavender sprouts in rural Iowa. In later years, they expanded their vision by including the Lavender Farm’s Craft store (featuring handmade items from local vendors) and distilling lavender oil, before constructing a greenhouse, a windmill, and a pergola. Today, new owners Tracy and Chelsea are focused on bringing lavender to the public. With no entrance fee in addition to conservation acres of wildflowers and grasses, all visitors to the farm will learn more about plants and pollinators. After exploring the fields, stop in the craft store to purchase locally-produced skin care, soaps, and more.
