Lewis County Public Library and Archives is committed to providing library services throughout the Lewis County community, not just in the library and archives building. Outreach services are brought directly to residents to reduce access barriers and increase community connections.
Outreach takes a variety of forms and the library and archives works closely with partners to find the right fit for the community. Outreach services include:
Library programs are taken directly to daycares, schools, businesses, senior facilities, and community gathering places. Offsite programming includes computer classes, history presentations, storytimes, and other activities. Programs are offered in person and virtually.
Books and other resources are delivered weekly or monthly to senior care centers, childcare facilities, and other organizations. Library staff work with sites to choose titles that fit their needs. The library and archives also offers a mobile computer lab that can be scheduled for various community groups and events.
Lewis County Public Library and Archives encourages visits by local school and classroom groups, scout troops, and community groups to the library and archives. Browse our collection, sign up for library cards, enjoy storytime and a craft, receive a tour of the library, learn about Lewis County history, and more!
Educators, group leaders, and other residents interested in receiving outreach services should contact the library and archives for more information. Field trip requests should be submitted at least two weeks prior to your planned visit. This is to ensure that library staff can provide your group with a memorable learning experience.
