Being the fourth largest reservoir in the United States, Lake Oahe is a sight to see. The lake stretches 231 miles long from central South Dakota to Bismark, North Dakota. The Missouri River channels through the reservoir and creates an incredible habitat for many species of fish and wildlife.
Lake Oahe is ideal for water sports and fishing. In the winter, it freezes over and become a perfect area for ice fishing! Not only does the lake supply abundant recreational activities, it also provides irrigation, conservation, flood control and electric power to many Midwestern states.
