The Judith Landing Campground is a popular take-out for those paddling the first half of the Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument. Few spend the night, so anybody staying could well have the place to themselves. There are eight sites that can accommodate RV’s up to 40 feet, plenty of grass for tents, and a vault toilet. There are no hookups or water.
Montana State Highway 236 crosses the river here providing access from Big Sandy or Lewistown, Montana. For many miles, the road is improved gravel but expect slick conditions when wet.
Above the campground is the mouth of a “handsome river”—the Judith River named by William Clark.
