Historic Rose Hotel
When they passed by Elizabethtown in early November 1803, Lewis and Clark would have enjoyed a night at the Rose Hotel. Alas, it was not built until 1812. While theirs was the sparse fare of western frontier soldiers, yours can be the elegance of pampered travelers.
Added to the National Register of Historic Places and owned by the State of Illinois, the hotel is operated by the Higginson Family. Each room is a unique, custom-designed treasure, and the river views from the porch are unparalleled.
