Sun River Valley Historical Society

Located in historic Fort Shaw, the Sun River Valley Museum provides tours of the fort. Fort Shaw includes several original buildings: Regimental Commander’s quarters, Officer quarters, and the nearby Fort Shaw Military Cemetery. The buildings are in various states of restoration under the direction of the historical society.

A self-guided tour is always open, and tours are offered if scheduled in advance. Check the website for a schedule of open house tours—typically once per month from May through September. Other events and meetings are posted on their website.
