Fort Hall Indian Relay Races

Come join the Shoshone and Bannock Tribes as they compete in the Fort Hall Indian Relay Races from May through September. Watch as competitors race bareback on horses, jumping from one horse to another as they run around a track three times, with their only help being two or three people to hold their next horse in place. This intense and exciting event has teams working to score the best times and is a fine show of equestrianism and athleticism. The Fort Hall Indian Relay Races take place all over Idaho including Blackfoot, Fort Hall, Pocatello Downs, Rigby Rodeo Grounds, and Ranch Rodeo as well as some events taking place in Wyoming. These races mostly take place during the weekends of the summer months with July and September being the when most occur. These events are fun for the whole family and show off the amazing skills of the competitors, including men, women, and youth races.
