Hanthorn Cannery Museum and Tour
The Hanthorn Cannery Museum is located at the end of 39th Street on Pier 39 in Astoria, OR. It is open daily from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm with no admission charge, although donations are appreciated. The museum is self-guided, allowing visitors to interact with fish boats, nets, and machinery.
Parking inside the building is reserved for tenants. If the parking area is full, use overflow parking on 39th St. or at the Hampton Inn. Drive slowly on the pier (max speed 5 mph) and wear sensible shoes due to uneven floors. Keep children close as parts of the dock lack guardrails.
Pier 39 is private property with active businesses and is not supported by tax funds. Public access is restricted beyond the workshop/utility area at the east end.
