Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts
The goal of the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts is to create, present, and understand modern art, which is accomplished through an international residency program, exhibitions, and educational programs. From art talks and curator-led tours, to exhibitions that highlight the best of modern art, the Bemis Center brings contemporary art to the heart of Omaha. Current exhibits include “Flags of our Mothers,” colossal statues by Raven Halfmoon that “break the mold of the romanticized Native American stereotype.” The Bemis Center’s residency program gives artists time, space, and resources to research and create new works of art. The museum is located in the Old Market district of Omaha and is open Wednesday through Sunday.
