Annual Nesika Illahee Pow Wow

There are about 57+ Tribes and Bands that comprise the Confederated Tribes of Siletz originating from Northern California to Southern Washington.  All of which were removed and placed on the reservation in Oregon in the 1850s after signing 8 different treaties to establish the Siletz Reservation.

Now the Tribe host’s the annual Nesika Illahee Pow-Wow and invites both Natives and Non-Natives to join in on the celebration.  This Pow-Wow takes place on the reservation in Siletz, Oregon.  The Pauline Ricks Memorial Pow-Wow Grounds at Government Hill in Siletz, OR becomes the beating heart for this great event annually on the second weekend in August. (Typically the Pow-Wow takes place the second weekend in August and lasts three days.  However, last year the Pow-Wow was a one day social event)  During the Pow-Wow there are a variety of traditional dancing, drumming, and singing.  Additionally, there are vendors that represent many sides of Indigenous Americans arts, crafts and cuisine.
