Photographic Journey with Kirk Clark to highlight Open Spaces

Nationally and internationally published photographer and author Kirk Clark will take his audience on a visual “safari” of open spaces across North America and the globe, in a program called “Open Spaces: A photographic Journey with Kirk Clark.” The program takes place on Tuesday, October 8 at the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center, which is located at 4201 Giant Springs Road in Great Falls.

The program features stunning images and their stories, providing a guide into our open spaces as well as information about when and where to capture these stunning scenes. Clark also offers insight into the issues surrounding our open space and visions for the future.

Kirk Clark was born and raised in rural Virginia. As a child, he spent much of his time trapping and fishing on the tidal flats of eastern Virginia. Eventually, he transitioned to hunting, and this led him to writing and photography. Now Kirk only shoots with a camera but is no less passionate about spending time outdoors. Mr. Clark’s photography has been featured in in over forty outdoor publications across the globe.

The program is part of the Ida Johnson Winter Speaker Series. Admission is free, and doors open at 6:30 pm, with the program starting at 7 pm. The program is sponsored by USDA Forest Service and Portage Route Chapter of the Lewis and Clark Trail Alliance. For more information contact the Interpretive Center at 406-727-8733.
