Lewis and Clark were early American heroes famous for exploring the Louisiana Purchase and the American West in search of a northwest passage for trade. Come celebrate their legacy by learning about the Corps of Discovery and earning your Lewis and Clark Junior Ranger Badge! A mock Lewis and Clark camp will be set up outside the Museum from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for you to explore including items the Corps of Discovery would’ve taken with them like food, trade goods, tools, and more! FREE Junior Ranger booklets will be available during that window. Tobacco Hiking Stick craft ($5.00), glass bead bracelet craft ($2.00), and flint and steal fire starting demonstrations will also be available during the event. Join interpretive staff on a mock expedition along the Big Bone Creek Trail! Guests will have the opportunity to learn more about the Lewis and Clark expedition and their connection to Big Bone Lick. Meet at the Lewis and Clark camp at 1:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public, no registration is required. Please contact claire.kolkmeyer@ky.gov for more information.
