This historic region offers a wealth of must-see sites, including the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail Interpretive Center—home to LCTA’s headquarters and the William P. Sherman Library and Archives.
Explore iconic expedition locations such as the Great Falls of the Missouri, Upper and Lower Portage Camps, Portage Route National Historic Landmark, Sulphur Springs, Decision Point, Grog Springs, Defeated Drain, Lewis and Clark Pass, Two Medicine Fight Site, and Camp Disappointment.
Beyond the trail, discover local treasures like the Charles M. Russell Museum, House, and Studio (a National Historic Landmark), Giant Springs State Park—Montana’s most visited park, and the First People’s Buffalo Jump, a National Historic Landmark just west of Great Falls. To the north, visit Fort Benton, another National Historic Landmark along the Trail.
Great Falls also boasts six National Historic Districts, including the vibrant downtown Central Business District, Montana’s only Accredited Main Street America community, featuring over 40 artistic murals, unique shops, and outstanding local restaurants.
We can’t wait to welcome you to the 2026 LCTA Annual Meeting—where history, community, and exploration come together!
