The Idaho Chapter of the Lewis & Clark Trail Alliance is offering an opportunity for you to learn about the Nez Perce culture; visit petroglyphs and a Lewis and Clark site; and hear stories about murders and stolen gold in Hells Canyon.
Billed as a “once in a lifetime adventure,” the boat journey will give you the opportunity to:
- Hear “The Echoes the Our Ancestors” from Nez Perce Tribal members. Guide: Nez Perce Tribal storyteller, “Takes Care of Water” / Stacia Morfin.
- Learn about traditional tribal river crossing sites used by Chief Joseph.
- View the Nez Perce Cougar Bar crossing site.
- Visit the L&C Sgt. Ordway encounter site of 1806 / Lewis and Clark guides.
- Explore Buffalo Eddy and petroglyphs.
- Listen to stories of the Chinese, murders, and stolen gold in Hells Canyon / Chinese Historian.
The cost is $150, which includes the jet boat trip, a Lewis and Clark presentation, lunch, and beverages. During lunch prior to the boat trip, there will be a Lewis and Clark presentation.
Only 30 seats are available.
